8GCC Cherating Trip (Part 1)

It is 8th Gen Civic Club Cherating Family Day Trip to Cherating… Me, Khai Phin, along with Peggy joined the trip.

As being a club trip, we travel in convoy, showcasing unity. Planning from the club committee executed and carried out well… Including the pre-pay toll system, that allows our convoy travel through toll without stopping down and being separated… Club marshals, sweepers, back takers, and media did their job well in maintaining convoy formation as well as road clearing. Convoy rules are well obeyed too by all members.

We got about 45+ Civics in convoy, whether FD1, FD2, or the mighty FD2R… Finally get to see FD2R in action…

On 8am, after having our breakfast at McDonalds Kuchai Lama, we headed to our RV Point (RV = Rendezvous) at Shell Station MRR2 prior to Karak Highway… There were already many Civics gathering there.

Normal looking FD, lightly modded FD, the Type R, and even superbly modded FD with Ayumi’s theme brighten our sight… After convoy speech ended, we get into our convoy team and embark on our journey.

The convoy begins and the pace is relatively faster than I expected, or maybe its my driving style… Suddenly the car in front of mine just ahead of me far far that I need to full throttle to keep up and we’ve breached our first toll at Gombak, gone through with the pre-pay toll system without hassle. After Gombak toll is the usual winding highway that will soon lead us to Genting Sempah Interchange, the way to Genting City of Entertainment but we aren’t going for that this time, so continue on to pass by more challenging winding roads passing by Bukit Tinggi aka Berjaya Hills, Bentong, and then Karak toll. After Karak toll, the convoy stopped beside as committee got a new idea, that is to let us convoy in group of colors, with marshals, sweepers, back takers and medias still in their respective position. Alabaster Silver Metallic follows first after lead marshal, then Sparkle Grey Pearl, following by Crystal Black Pearl, and then end with Tafetta White along with back takers. Still feel like Black and White is nicer = =

The convoy set non-stop until our mid resting point, R&R Temerloh where we stayed for 45 minutes before continuing our convoy to Cherating, passing by Kuantan going through Jabor toll and through Kemaman before reaching our destination Suria Beach Resort, Cherating… Somehow we are in the middle of Pahang and Terengganu border. The east coast line is just nice and warm on first sight…

I fallen asleep while KP and Peggy went out for their intimate moment at the beach, East Coast of Malaysia… The wind is strong and nice, and it doesn’t stop… Check out the condition…

After they had some fun… KP decided to take some random shots around the resort while waiting for dinner…

It’s 7:30 pm… And the dinner is set at 8:30 pm… We already hungry, judging by the look of me and Peggy above while KP still taking random shots… We went to the cafeteria to have some food first… The price is quite high, but to our surprise, the food is nice… Peggy and KP had spaghetti and fried rice, and I had red snapper fish and chips.

Around 8:45 pm… All members gathered and our Civic Club President Mr.Mike gives a speech, not really a speech, just appreciation words for all of us gathered together. No surprise, all malay food… I only tasted some, KP tasted the most… But all are fine to me for the taste. There is Ayam Masak Merah, where KP says very spicy… There is Seafood Tomyam soup, where KP says not so spicy compare to Ayam Masak Merah. There is Ikan Tenggiri masak Kuning, fine to me… Kacang Panjang Belacan, I didn’t try…

Desserts… Mango Pudding, Orange Jello, and assorted cakes… Damn I am gonna miss that for not taking more…

There comes the lucky draw session after dinner… There are snack hampers, as well as sponsors from GC Motorsport, our panel exterior modification workshop.

It is a “everyone will get” lucky draw… Just depends on what you will get… For me, I got a wax+shampoo for car… Not bad not good… At least better than sporty torch light = =… The grand prize is sport cars equipment manufacturer Takata 4 point Seat Belt harness, which costs RM 1350++ here in Malaysia. Our Eastern Region leader Qeu, entertained the party with his magic tricks where KP and me trying to figure out but to no avail.

Back to our room… I straightly head for a long sleep while KP and Peggy continue their moment…

I woke up 8 am in the next morning, but the couples still sleeping soundly… So I decided to continue my sleep also, until 10:30 am where I found Peggy sitting and reading at bed… So bath up, pack up and prepare to check out by 12pm…

After group photo taking session, we convoy to have our lunch, which is a small malay stall… I had plenty of Keropok Lekor there because I don’t really can eat the food served there… KP and Peggy had laksa ala Cherating style maybe… Just look a bit weird… And the uncle from Singapore told me that it is normal malay style, in Johor and Singapore you can find it easily… As well as laksam… With is same as laksa but thicker noodles like our Chee Cheong Fun.
