Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Limited Edition (25 units)

This limited edition launched at Pavillion KL today as of March 30 2010… With a hefty price tag of RM115,000, a double up from normal Neo CPS out there.

Before anything else, the standard Campro CPS 1.6 produces 125PS and 150Nm of torque while in this Lotus Racing version, it is up to 145PS and 168Nm of torque with R3 Engine Management System along with R3 Camshafts with Adjustable Allow Cam.  Not much gain here, but still impressive with other changes.

This edition only available in Manual Transmission, which is a real good move… A 5 speed MT, but with revised gear ratios, allowing each and every gear to rev past its normal 6000RPM redline all the way to 7500RPM, with all sorts of torque curve issues eliminated that you would found in previous Campro. One can assure that, Tengku Djan Ley being one of the best drifters in the world, as the head of R3 and developing this thing, bearing along with Lotus official name, it will definitely be some fun and thrilling experience. Noted that it is being driven by Lotus F1 Racing driver either, such as Heidi Kovailanen.

The suspension system is another upgrade, featuring the god damn expensive Ohlins DFV (Dual Flow Valve) adjustable for both front and rear, precisely tuned by R3, claimed to deliver direct steering input and cornering precision, inspired by the Civic Type R test drive by Tengju Djan Ley himself, as he praised the Civic Type R being a FWD, but the steering input is like a driver actually controlling the front wheels and not via the steering.

The carbon fibre hood is another good move to reduce the normal heavy Neo CPS, from 1212KG to 1150KG, lighter weight better performance, typical Lotus DNA.

Rims wise, still a 16’ but better design and lightweight, and wrapped with a better tyre. It’s the Bridgestone Adrenaline RE001 with 205/45 profile. Behind the rims and rotor, you will get another big upgrade which is AP Racing four-pot brakes with cross-drilled ventilated disc, while rear is normal solid disc with single pot. This might actually be an overkill, too much of stopping power but who cares that you could enjoy at higher speed longer and better stopping time. For your extra information, the brakes also being used in Lotus Exige S.

Besides that, this limited version will also get R3 Titanium Exhaust Headers, R3 Underdrive Pulleys, R3 Exhaust System, R3 Carbon Fibre Airbox with K&N filter. Push start button is added. Leather seat is Nappa leather similar to the Lancer GT.
