Courtesy of Charles… Got a ride in Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G…
A quick review on specification, featuring 1ZZ-FE 1.8 DOHC VVT-i mated to 4 Speed Super ECT, outputting 132PS@6000RPM and 170Nm@4200RPM .
Now this is why old man loves Toyota really, any bumps or potholes (assuming not to big for your whole wheel to drop down) you can just run over at 60KM/H, you barely feel anything. This is so called comfort, and led to the saying “Toyota suspension very good”… Sorry, wrong explanation… Just the settings…
The Super ECT is general feeling that Toyota will give… Hard footed, light footed is not a problem… It will make you feel you still a professional driver… Wonder if they can apply that to brake? So that those beginner will have a better time along with their pity passenger.
Aircond? At 24 degree Celsius with 1 speed setting, Charles still chilling himself and me to half death. And cornering definitely just so and so.
Overall… Overtaking, cruising and everything just fine enough for a practical car, but as always underpowered for nowadays.
Other than wood trim that I dislike, I discovered another more annoying stuff… Which is reverse sensor, when you engage into R… It is like those lorries, start beeping non stop just to tell you “I am reversing”.
